American Express.. without an apostrophe

img_bluebox.gif So here we are working fulfilling orders “do we accept american express”?

Well actually we don’t - so let me call American Express now and get an account….

I’m calling, get through, put on hold (transfer to merchant assistant)

The call drops!! I need to charge my phone! “where is the other phone”

OK…so - we call Amex again to go ahead and set up a merchant account - we call and get a guy who gives us a walk through, we need your info etc..

In the meantime I hear a slow jam in the back ground (like what’s this music??)

My friend gets up to lower down OUR music thinking it was way too much going on.

Me: I can’t barely hear you because of your back ground music

operator: that’s not me

me: oh god what it’s going on

operator #2: thank you for calling american express thanks for holding how may i help you

me: what ? I couldn’t believe i had a 3 way with 2 Amex Operators - lol I immediately hand over the phone to my friend and said “you handle this” he gets on then operator #2 decides to hang up….he passes the phone back to me, ok it’s just one person looking at me like you can handle this.

Me: Hello (all scared)

Operator: Name, Company’s Name, Address etc please

He asks a few questions (20 minutes later)

After

Operator: What is your email address?

Me: it is lisa@babyslanguage.com

Operator: ok let me repeat…. L I S A @ B A B Y S L A N G U A G E . C O M is there an apostrophe there?

Me : Uhmm NO, (I looked at my friend like WTF) I look to my partner and laugh like you know -you can’t use an apostrophe?

Operator: Telephone number please

Me: 203-334-7779

All this is going on, and I’m covering my mouth not to LMAO (didn’t want him to think that I was laughing at him) but it was hilarious, I’m trying to not laugh loud

Operator: May I please have your website address

Me: WWW.BABYSLANGUAGE.COM (i look over my friend and say “Watch him ask is there an apostrophe” lol

Operator - let me repeat - www.baby - is there an apostrophe - Oh! No he didn’t just ask that

I was laughing so hard I couldn’t get back on the phone, He asked me 3 times before I stopped laughing -

Operator: Ms. Santos, are you there

Me: Yes (giggling, with tears on my eyes)

Operation: Is there a apostrophe in your website? - and he was serious too!

Me: so finally NO -there is definitely No apostrophe LOL

I had to hand off the whole call to my friend to finish the transaction..

Overall we got the account number and it was just a funny experience - maybe you had to be there but I am still laughing and of course we are proud to announce Baby’s Language (With an apostrophe) is now accepting… yes

American Express!

Why are you so Freaking Happy?

lol so I’m the happiest camper right about now, you can hear it, feel it, and agree!! So much is happening -great things that is. I have to say that I love my new mac book it is the hippiest out there! I recently started working on quick books to get all of my accounting, taxes sorted out, at the beginning I didn’t see a whole lot of advantage as to using quickbooks, but now that all sorts of accounts are opening ;) and the shop is pumping I have, “HAVE” to keep track of what’s going on! Needless to say I’m loving it!! Lots of stores are requesting samples, catalogs -Have to send that out! The ENK show is up and coming, I have to do another show right after, I feel like it’s x-mas all over again…There is one thing that I must do! I HAVE to go skiing, I want to take Demi on her first ski trip ever! My other half says “babe she’s only 3″ but my superiors say “this is the perfect time” so hell with she’s only 3…will be coordinating something asap. BTW a modeling agency contacted me yesterday in ref: to Demi (I have to think about that one) too much going on right now. New and fresh designs for the Baby’s Language collection are being created!! Stay tuned!! I love you all….happy times!! Stay happy!

I love you “Metro North”

While driving to my office this morning, I see the train pass me, I automatically started blowing it kisses!! I miss riding the train, I really do. I met some creative, smart, wonderful people while commuting. I will definitely recommend the metro north to any entrepreneur. While blowing kisses to my metro north the song “I’m coming out” started playing on the radio…to my surprise it was perfect timing….me loving my train and my life!!

“I can’t believe my break is already over!!!!”

Fashionably Late!

I have not been active on my website for a while -due to my company’s expansion, As you all already know I’ve acquire a print shop and I’m working on having it ready for my daughters b-day which is within a week. Anyhow I thought I come and share some ideas that are running through my head with you all.

ok my thoughts are -Like I said I’ve acquired a print shop (for the 15 hundredth time), this shop is huge so my plans are transforming the front of the shop to a showroom…in other words a store front, I’ve been stressed over the fact that Demi’s b-day is right around the corner & the idea of celebrating, having people over, cooking, hosting aww at my house it is sooo but so daunting to me that I decided to have her b-day at the shop. I m thinking of a t-shirt party!! I’ll have all the kids sit :0 (lol yeah ok) and have them draw something (anything) creative…then process their drawing, print it on a t-shirt and wa-la “ a keepsake” I believe that going through this process will teach them good social skills, teaches team work, teaches patience - waiting for stuff to dry , teach self-expression. - Creating your own design, teaches confidence building skills - Following step by step that leads to a completed product builds confidence that the participant can in fact make something beautiful and useful, teaches the lesson that in all of us lies the ability to orchestrate the combining of materials, skills and experience with the result of making, producing something practical that everyone can use, a T-shirt.

For the worry mommies –the kids are not going to be any where near or around the machines, ink etc…they are behind close doors.

Please ladies give me feedback on this idea that is driving me crazy…any thoughts, comments; critiques are allllllll welcome I NEED HELP!!

If you wish to connect further here is my email lisa@babyslanguage.com

Thank you all so much….Have a bless day…

Santa Claus

So hectic, so crazy, so busy, so freaking unbalance -that it makes me think what is xmas. So we were late as usual to the family gathering. Santa came and left…there was no way, I was gonna leave Demi without seeing Santa , not today!, “the real Santa” I had a glass of gin & tonic I spied the fire-fighters coming down the street with Santa on the passenger side, I ran in the middle of the streets waved and flagged Santa down, “hold it guys” “hold it guys” “hold it”, “I need Santa” I’m now looking straight at Santa “please come down and see my daughter” The fire fighters were looking at each other like “should we?” -the rest is history, DEMI HAD A BLAST!!! Santa asked her what would she like and she said a “microphone” & a “dolly” it was great Demi hugged Santa Claus on X-mas. Okay enough of the slushy stuff….

Back to business. Today, I had a phone call (way more then that) but, one of them had a special greeting for me, is this “Lisa”? “The lady that saved xmas”?, one of the guys at the shop referred to me as just that! “the lady who saved christmas”, since I was able to keep the shop going and keep the employees working, it made me smile and think. I thought that was the touchiest comment I’ve received all year ;) ok that is still slushy stuff.

Even though it’s xmas I can’t stop thinking about business, funny enough while recipients were opening up their gifts one of my nephews says “Jee tia” you’re advertising through your xmas gifts too, way to go! I thought that was like a real business comment. I like those I thought. Anyhow big things are happening! I have big plans, big plans are happening now, can’t wait to …………….

I t was fun buying and creating a nice package from my company, it was even more fulfilling handing them out. Everyone at the office seemed to have loved the items I made and it was truly a success. Great stuff, keeping me busy and getting ready to move forward into the new year with a new print shop under BL. Good things to come, Happy Holidays from all of us at Baby’s Language!blbagsgifts.jpgblhats.jpgbmugs.jpgblwrapbags.jpg
